Hidden Power is an offensive move of varying type. It is contained within TM10.

Hidden Power is a move that changes type depending on the user. Similar its type is determined by the user's IVs. However, Hidden Power cannot yield a Normal-type move.

It can be determined with the following methods:

The simplest way to calculate IVs is by matching up their IVs in the following chart. (o stands for any odd number, e stands for any even number, and x stands for any number)

IVs Type
O/O/O/O/O/O Fairy
X/X/O/O/O/O Dark
X/X/O/O/E/E Bug
X/X/E/O/O/O Dragon
X/X/O/E/O/O Electric
X/X/E/E/E/E Fighting
X/X/E/E/O/E Fire
X/X/O/E/E/E Flying
X/X/E/O/E/O Ghost
X/X/E/E/O/O Grass
X/X/O/E/E/O Ground
X/X/O/O/O/E Ice
X/X/E/E/E/O Poison
X/X/E/O/O/E Psychic
X/X/E/O/E/E Rock
X/X/O/O/E/O Steel
X/X/O/E/O/E Water

The raw formula for determining a Hidden Power works as follows:

HP type = (HP + 2 x Atk + 4 x Def + 8 x Sp Atk + 16 x Sp Def + 32 x Speed) x 16 / 63

Rather than inputting the IV value directly, the variable inserted is 1 if the IV of the stat is odd, and 0 if it is even. The outcome is rounded down to the nearest whole number and matched with the following list:

Number Type
0 Fighting
1 Flying
2 Rock
3 Bug
4 Fire
5 Water
6 Psychic
7 Ice
8 Poison
9 Ground
10 Ghost
11 Steel
12 Grass
13 Electric
14 Dragon
15 Dark
16 Fairy
